Curator Wine Co 2024 Hamlets Rosé - 92 points
Our Hamlets Rosé showcases from Montepulciano, with a small amount of barrel fermented Grenache in the mix.
Picked before dawn and straight to the winery for light pressing to minimise colour and maintain freshness. Chilled down in tank then allowed to slowly warm itself up, 100% naturally fermented, minimal acid & sulphur added and nothing else!
Light pale pink in the glass. Watermelon and rose water aromas, super crunchy apple on the palate with a touch of creamy texture (thank you Grenache fermented in barrel), hints of strawberry and watermelon, super dry and lip-smacking acidity on the finish to leave you only wanting more!
Vegan Friendly.
92 points The Real Review - Light coral pink colour. Red cherry and candied raspberry aromas. Medium weight, palate offers some richer red fruits with notes of sweet spice and cured pork. Good length, tannins and acidity both playing a part in the drive, though allowing the finish to fan out without losing focus.

The Montepulciano had extremely minimal skin contact and was immediately destemmed and pressed to tank, where natural/wild ferment occurred as the juice warmed. Fermented to complete dryness, then settled, racked and bottled in quick succession.
The Grenache (about 10% of the blend) was handpicked earlier than the “Monte” and pressed into seasoned French Oak barrels, where it underwent natural fermentation, to create a creamy texture and enhance the beautiful mid palate of the finished blend.
Both wines were fermented to complete dryness, with the Grenache spending 3 months in barrel prior to be blended together with the Montepulciano prior to cold stablisiation and bottling.

Both are hand harvested, at differing times, from a grower’s vineyard in Hamlet of Halletts Valley, just South of the Village of Tanunda

Generally for immediate drinking but this wine looks amazing with a year in the cellar. It brings out a whole new array of flavours!
